Resume Tips:

  • Be sure to provide complete and accurate information:
Casinos have no shortage of applicants that will to do just that and you don't want to be passed over for something as simple as a complete resume.
  • Objective Summary:
This should be at the top of your resume and be no more than 3 to 5 sentences describing your overall experience and goals for applying for the position.
  • Major Achievments:
Many people underestimate their life's achievments. For instance, if you were the manager or assistant manager of a fast food resturant and were recognized as a major reason why the productivity of your shift improved by 40%. You should list this as companies are only as successful as the effort given by their employees.
  • Ten (10) years Work Experience
Keep in mind that many employers today want a full and complete accounting of the last ten years of your employment. If for some reason you don't have 10 years employment such as you were a stay at home Mom or you were in high school 4 years ago, be sure to list that in the work experience area. Remember, you have a small window of opportunity to make a good impression with the person reviewing your resume, so make the best of it.
  • Education & Special Licensing:
Make sure to list your last grade completed and or any diplomas or degrees you've received. After all, knowledge is power, so show up looking as strong as you can and be sure to highlight any specialty training such as;firearms training, for security officers or your dealing school course certificate for the games you've been certified in.
  • Hobbies and Interests:
If you have things your enjoy doing even if not that often, list them here as you may find that these hobbies are attractive to an employer who knows you will be in contact with their customers and may have something in common with them that will help the relationship building process move along smoothly.
  • References:
Make sure to have at least 3 personal and/or professional references that you can provide names, full addresses, phone numbers and years known. These are the people that can vouche for your character and give a solid reccomendation.
